A singhasan for home temple in hand-carved solid teak, with an Om medallion at the crest, peacocks perched either side and a pierced arched back. The seat is wide and unobstructed, so a murti sits centrally with the rosette panel and the Om rising directly behind it.

Master Indian artisans carve every part by hand from seasoned solid teak. The crest is pierced right through so daylight and lamplight pass behind the foliage, the peacocks are worked in the round on their pillars, and the apron panels are cut individually rather than repeated from one pattern.

It is made to order. Choose the seat width and height, the motif at the crest, the finish tone, and whether you want gilded or coloured highlights. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. Behind it stand a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

There is a row of small shaped openings arcing across the top of the back panel. They are the smallest work on the piece and they are drilled twice - once from each side.

Boring a hole straight through a board in one pass always damages the far face. The cutter reaches the back, there is nothing left to support the fibres, and it pushes them outward instead of cutting them - so the exit side breaks out in a ragged ring. On a hidden fixing hole nobody cares. On an opening that is meant to be looked at from both sides, and sits in a row where any inconsistency is obvious, it is unacceptable.

So each opening is set out on both faces from the same centre marks, and bored from the front only until the tip of the cutter just breaks the far surface. The panel is then turned over and the same hole is bored back from the other side, meeting the first cut halfway. The waste falls out of the middle, and both faces are cut cleanly from their own side.

Every opening in that arc is worked that way, then shaped by hand into its final outline. It doubles the setting out and doubles the handling, and the reward is a row of openings with no ragged edge anywhere - front or back.

Frame: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Crest: pierced foliate carving with an Om medallion at the centre.

Peacocks: carved in the round, perched on carved pillars either side of the back.

Back: arched panel with a central rosette and a row of shaped openings across the top, inside a beaded border.

Arms: rolled arms over carved scrolled supports.

Seat: wide open solid teak platform.

Apron: carved panels across the front and both sides.

Feet: carved scrolled feet.

Finish: warm natural teak hand polish as photographed. Any tone can be matched, and gilded or coloured highlights can be added.

Cushion: none as photographed. A fitted cushion in any fabric can be made for the seat.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

The peacocks are the most exposed carving on this piece - they stand clear of the frame on both sides with thin tails running down it - so they are supported along their length rather than held at a point.

A shaped foam sleeve follows each bird and its tail down the frame, and the pillar beneath gets its own collar. The pierced crest is supported with foam fitted into its larger voids so the carved bridges cannot flex, with a foam frame around the outer edge. The arm scrolls, the rolled arm ends and the scrolled feet each get collars of their own.

A soft non-abrasive layer covers all the polished surfaces first so nothing coarse touches the finish. Corrugated panels then build a rigid shell around the piece, with the base blocked and braced so the weight rests on the feet and apron rather than on the crest above. The outer carton is edge-reinforced so stacked weight in transit is carried by the packaging. Everything unwraps by hand.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price - no zone pricing, no distance surcharge, no separate freight line at checkout. The same cost delivered to Warangal as to Haridwar.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. The piece leaves in multi-layer protective packaging, travels with handlers briefed on pierced and figure carving, and is checked at each transfer point. If anything is not right when you open it, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee is ours, not the transporter's.

Because it is carved to order, production begins once your size, motif and finish are confirmed in writing. If the singhasan is being built around a particular murti, send its measurements at enquiry so the seat and arch are scaled around it. We give a realistic timeline in writing, keep you updated as the carving progresses, and send a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

The solid teak frame and joinery are covered for 20 years. That includes the feet and apron, the seat platform, the arms and their scrolled supports, the arched back panel, the peacock pillars and the pierced crest above them. If a joint opens or a member fails inside those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's own oils are why termites avoid it, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the piece is yours.

Pieces like this tend to be bought once and kept for generations rather than replaced, and the warranty is written to match that. It holds because the singhasan is made from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who build everything we sell, from timber we season ourselves. Registration is automatic with the order; your order number opens a claim.
