A king chair in hand-carved solid teak with lion arms and deep-buttoned brown leather. It is a single seat with real presence - built for the head of a boardroom, a study, a hotel lobby, a reception hall, or a home where one chair is meant to be the centre of the room.

Master Indian artisans carve every figure and every panel by hand from seasoned solid teak. The arm lions are worked in the round and are structural, carrying the arms and part of the seat load down through their own legs to the floor. The crest is pierced through in two tiers so light passes behind the carving.

It is made to order. Choose the leather or fabric, the button pattern, the finish and the dimensions. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. It comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

Deep buttoning in leather is a different job from deep buttoning in cloth, and the difference is that leather will not be talked into anything.

Woven fabric has give. Pull a button and the cloth around it stretches slightly in every direction, so small errors in the layout absorb themselves and the pleats between buttons settle where they want to. Leather has almost none of that - it is a skin, not a weave, and it will not ease. Whatever fullness is not planned for has nowhere to go, and it shows up as a hard crease running off at an angle from a button.

So on a leather back the fullness is calculated for each diamond before any hole is made, and the hide is cut oversize by exactly that amount. Each button is pulled in sequence, and as it is pulled the upholsterer folds the pleat by hand and sets it down with a smooth bone-ended tool, deciding where that fold will lie rather than letting the material decide.

Every pleat on this back was placed deliberately, one at a time. That is why they all run the same way and meet at the same angle - something leather never does on its own.

Frame: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Arms: full standing lions carved in the round at both arm fronts, structural down to carved paw feet.

Back stiles: carved lion heads at the tops of both stiles.

Crest: two tiers of pierced foliate carving.

Back: deep-buttoned upholstered panel with a shaped top and studded trim.

Seat: plain upholstered seat over a sprung and padded frame, with studded trim along the front.

Apron: carved across the full width below the seat.

Upholstery: brown buttoned leather as photographed. Any leather or fabric can be used instead, including your own material.

Finish: natural teak hand polish. Any tone can be matched, and gilded or coloured highlights can be added.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

Two lions at the front, two lion heads at the top and a pierced crest between them means this chair has projecting carving at every corner, so each is packed individually before the chair is wrapped as a whole.

Shaped foam collars go onto both arm lions - head, mane and paws - and onto the two head carvings at the stile tops. The pierced crest is supported with foam fitted into its larger voids so the carved bridges cannot flex, and a foam frame runs around its outer edge.

A soft non-abrasive layer covers all the polished surfaces and the leather so nothing coarse touches either. Corrugated panels then build a rigid shell around the chair, with the base blocked and braced so its considerable weight rests on the seat frame and the lions' feet rather than on the carving above. The outer carton is edge-reinforced. The leather travels under a breathable cover that keeps dust off without holding moisture against the hide. Everything unwraps by hand, no blades needed.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no separate freight line at checkout. The chair reaches Aurangabad for the same cost as Agra.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. It leaves in multi-layer protective packaging, travels with handlers briefed on figure and pierced carving, and is checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open it, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the chair is carved to order, production begins once your leather, finish and measurements are confirmed in writing. Carving of this depth takes real time and we give a realistic timeline rather than an optimistic one, with updates as the figures, the crest and the upholstery progress, and a dispatch note with an expected delivery window so you can plan for it.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty. On this chair that covers the lion figures as structural members, the seat frame, the back frame and stiles, the crest and the apron. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with it and never expires. Teak's own oils are what termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built to preserve them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the chair is yours.

A chair this heavy is only as good as the joints carrying its weight, and those are exactly what the warranty is written around. It holds because the chair is built start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make every piece we sell, from timber we season ourselves. Registration is automatic with your order - your order number is all a claim ever needs.
