A console table for the living room is a shallow table that sits against a wall or behind a sofa, holding lamps, photographs, a tray or flowers without taking floor space from the seating. This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans and gilded, and it comes with a matching carved mirror.

The design is deliberately light on its feet. Four turned and carved legs taper to small feet, so a long table does not read as a solid block along the wall. The carving is concentrated in the apron, at eye level when you are seated, where it can actually be seen.

The marble top gives a hard-wearing surface for lamps and glasses, and the mirror above lifts light back into the room.

Every set is made to order and fully customisable. Table length, depth and height, mirror height, marble variety and gilding depth are all specified by you, with custom sizes made to order and exact dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

Both pieces carry a 20-year warranty on the solid teak frame and joinery plus lifetime termite cover. Delivery is free anywhere in India, in multi-layer protective packaging with guaranteed dent-free arrival.

Four turned legs that are meant to match are one of the quiet difficulties of furniture making, because no two turnings ever come off a lathe identical. Work one leg to completion and then try to copy it three times, and by the fourth the differences have compounded - a bead slightly fuller here, a cove slightly deeper there. Standing side by side under a gilded finish, those differences are visible.

Our master Indian artisans avoid the problem by never finishing a leg on its own. All four blanks are marked out together from one rod, and then each stage is carried across all four before the next begins - every shoulder cut on all four, then every cove roughed on all four, then every bead formed on all four. The tool is in the same hand, at the same angle, with the same feel, across the set.

The carving that follows the turning is done the same way. Each band of ornament is laid out on all four legs before any of it is cut, so the leaves sit at the same height on every leg and the spacing between them agrees. Matching is a matter of sequence, not of skill alone.

Material: solid teak throughout, table and mirror frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Table: four turned and carved tapering legs, deeply carved apron pierced at the centre with a shell and pendant drop, carved corner blocks.

Top: marble slab with a hand-moulded edge following the shaped front.

Mirror: rectangular plate in a carved frame with pierced side scrolls, a crested head and a carved base rail.

Finish: hand-applied gilding over the carved timber, sealed for durability, matched across both pieces.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including combined height.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak frames and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

Photography: images show the actual product, not renders.

Slender turned legs are the point of care on this table. They are the narrowest members in the piece and they carry carved detail along their length, so they are packed individually rather than relying on the crate.

Each leg is wrapped in a soft non-abrasive layer against the gilding, then given shaped foam along its full length so nothing bears on the carved bands or the small feet. The apron's pierced centre, shell and pendant drop are protected separately, with the drop given clearance beneath it.

The mirror travels braced across its width, the plate cushioned across its surface, with shaped supports on both faces of the pierced crest and side scrolls.

The marble goes flat on a padded board with guards on all four edges, packed apart from both frames. Everything then enters rigid outer crates, strapped so nothing shifts. This multi-layer protective packaging is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed - please inspect while the delivery team is present.

Delivery is free anywhere in India for the whole set. There is no freight charge, no distance surcharge and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

The set is made to order, so production begins once your table dimensions, mirror height, marble and finish are confirmed in writing. We share the timeline then and keep you updated through turning, carving, gilding and marble fitting.

Crates travel together with a carrier used to handling carved furniture, stone and mirror glass, and you are contacted before delivery so someone can be present to receive and inspect everything.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If transit damage has occurred, photograph it with the delivery team present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the marble is laid onto the table first and the mirror stood above it; if you would prefer the mirror wall-fixed, tell us before production and the fittings are built into the frame.

Twenty years on the solid teak frames and their joinery, from the day the set reaches you. On the table that covers the leg joints, the apron, the corner blocks and the bed the marble sits on; on the mirror it covers the frame joints, the crest and the rebate holding the plate.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies to both pieces for the life of the furniture, not a fixed number of years. Seasoned solid teak carries oils termites will not attack, and neither piece has a board core for them to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. Because the legs are matched as a set, any leg repaired under warranty is worked against the other three rather than in isolation, so the set stays consistent. Both warranties apply anywhere in India and travel with the furniture rather than the original buyer.
