A carved console table is one where the decoration is cut from the solid timber rather than moulded, pressed or applied as separate ornament - and the difference shows in the shadows. This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with a pierced and undercut apron, carved cabriole legs on scrolled paw feet, a deeply worked stretcher and a veined marble top.

Because the apron is cut through, the wall colour shows behind it and the table stays visually light despite the density of the carving. The stretcher does the same job lower down, tying the four legs and giving the eye a second layer to read.

Every table is made to order and fully customisable. Length, depth, height, marble variety and gilding depth are all yours to specify. Custom sizes are made to order with exact dimensions confirmed in writing before production begins.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, in multi-layer protective packaging with guaranteed dent-free arrival.

Deep carving is not really about shape. It is about shadow. A scroll that sits flat against its ground reads as a drawing; the same scroll with air behind it reads as an object. Getting air behind it is called undercutting, and it is the last thing a carver does and the most easily ruined.

Our master Indian artisans finish the front surface completely first - every curve modelled, every leaf edge settled - because once the tool goes behind the ornament there is no putting material back. Then they work from beneath with bent gouges, cutting inward under the raised edges until the ornament stands free of the ground everywhere except where it is genuinely attached.

How far to go is decided at the root, not at the edge. Each element is anchored to the frame at one or two points, and the carver leaves those roots heavy while cutting away everything between them. Take the undercut past the root and the ornament becomes decoration waiting to be knocked off; stop well short of it and the whole apron stays flat and lifeless.

What you see on the finished table are those decisions, one at a time, several hundred of them.

Material: solid teak throughout, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Top: veined marble slab with a hand-moulded edge profiled to follow the shaped front.

Carving: apron pierced through and undercut in scrolls, shells and flower heads; carved cabriole legs ending in scrolled paw feet; shaped stretcher with a deep floral cluster at the centre.

Finish: hand-applied gilding over the carved timber, sealed for durability.

Construction: traditional joinery, ornament cut and undercut from the solid, roots left heavy at the points of attachment.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Made to order: length, depth, height, marble variety and carving depth chosen by you.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak frame and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

Photography: images show the actual product, not renders.

Undercut carving is beautiful and it is exposed - every element that stands clear of its ground is a point that would take the impact if the crate were knocked. Packing is designed around leaving those points untouched.

The first layer against the gilding is soft and non-abrasive. Over it, foam is cut to sit around the raised scrollwork rather than compressed flat against it, so nothing presses on an undercut edge. The stretcher's central cluster, the scrolled paw feet and the corner scrolls each get individually shaped protection.

The marble travels flat on a padded board with guards along all four edges, packed separately from the frame so no weight rests on it at any point.

Frame and top then go into a rigid outer crate with cushioning around every face, strapped so nothing can shift in transit. This multi-layer protective packaging is why we guarantee dent-free arrival. Please inspect the piece while the delivery team is still with you.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, no difference in price between a metro address and a smaller town.

Every carved console table is made to order, so production starts once your dimensions, marble and finish are confirmed in writing. We share the build timeline then and keep you updated as carving, undercutting, gilding and marble fitting are completed.

Once finished, the table is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to moving carved furniture and stone. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present to receive and check it.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. The marble top is set onto the frame at your address rather than travelling assembled, which makes handling through doorways and up stairs much easier.

The solid teak frame and every joint in it carry a 20-year warranty from the day the table reaches you - leg joints, the pierced apron, the stretcher connections and the bed the marble sits on.

The piece also carries lifetime cover against termite damage, for the life of the furniture rather than a set number of years. Seasoned solid teak carries oils termites avoid, and because the table is teak all the way through there is no board core anywhere for them to reach.

If anything covered arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. Deeply carved gilded work is repaired by artisans working in the original sequence - re-carving from the solid, undercutting, then re-gilding - so a repaired element casts the same shadow as the ones beside it and does not read as a patch. Both warranties apply anywhere in India and travel with the furniture rather than the original buyer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

It means the carver has cut in behind the raised ornament so it stands clear of its background instead of sitting flat on it. That air behind the carving is what lets each scroll cast its own shadow, and it is why deeply carved work looks different from moulded or applied decoration.

Yes, entirely. The apron, legs and stretcher are worked from solid teak by master Indian artisans, and the undercutting is done with hand tools after the front surfaces are finished.

Yes. Length, depth and height are all yours to choose, and the carving is set out afresh so the apron and stretcher stay correctly proportioned. Custom sizes are made to order with exact measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Yes. The top shown is a veined cream stone and it can be built in white, grey, green, black or a more strongly figured marble. The moulded edge is cut to follow whichever slab you choose.

A soft dry brush - a clean paintbrush is ideal - lifts dust from the recesses, followed by a soft dry cloth over the raised surfaces. That is all a sealed gilded surface needs.

Yes. The same carving can be silvered, finished in a dark ground with gilded highlights, or left in a natural teak polish so the carving reads in the timber itself. Tell us the effect you want.

20 years on the solid teak frame and its joinery, plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Both apply anywhere in India.

Yes, free anywhere in India. The frame and marble travel in separate multi-layer protective packaging and the table is guaranteed to arrive dent-free.
