Udupi sits on the Karnataka coast, where the Arabian Sea breeze shapes everything — the food, the architecture, the art. The temples of Udupi are known for their extraordinary carved wooden pillars and mandapas — intricate, organic carvings that seem to grow from the wood rather than be cut from it. This is the tradition that inspired the Udupi Hand Carved Indoor Swing.
Our craftsmen who worked on this swing brought the coastal Karnataka vocabulary to life — the flowing patterns, the natural motifs drawn from the sea and the forest, the sense of movement and life that distinguishes Udupi carving from the more geometric styles of other regions. The natural colour finish was a deliberate choice: the teak itself is beautiful enough to need nothing more than careful craftsmanship and a quality protective coat.
The foldable design was our craftsmen's answer to the modern Indian home — where space is often at a premium but the desire for a traditional jhula is no less strong. A swing that can be folded and stored when not in use, without sacrificing any of its beauty or quality when deployed.
Handcrafted in India, delivered across the country — a piece of coastal Karnataka's finest heritage for your home.
